Services / Organic Social Media
Organic social for trades and service businesses has a realistic job: showing proof of your work to people who already found you, helping you hire, and backing up your reviews. We plan posts your team can supply from the field and keep your Google Business Profile updated alongside Facebook and Instagram.
A publishing rhythm built around photos you already take.
Proof, hiring or community, not everything.
A simple photo and clip routine for the crew.
Scheduled posts across social and GBP.
What we can help with
The scope stays small enough that it keeps happening after the first month.
Organic Social Media in practice
Organic reach for business pages is small, and very few people find a plumber by scrolling Instagram. What does happen is that someone gets your name from Google, a quote or a neighbour, then checks your Facebook or Instagram before calling. An active page full of recent jobs, real team members and replies to comments tells them you’re current and legitimate. A page whose last post is three years old raises doubts. Social also matters for hiring: apprentices and qualified tradespeople look at what a business posts to judge whether they want to work there.
If you want reach beyond your existing followers, that’s paid distribution, covered under social media marketing.
Planning and implementation
The content that works for trades is mostly proof: before and after photos, a quick clip of the finished job, a problem found and how it was fixed. Recruitment posts show the crew, the vehicles, the tools and what a normal day looks like. Reviews can be turned into simple graphics or shared with a thank-you, which reinforces them for anyone checking you out. Google Business Profile posts and fresh photos belong in the plan too, since that profile is where many local customers see you first, and recent posts give searchers current work to look at. We set up a shared folder or a simple routine so techs can drop job photos at the end of the day without thinking about captions.
Content planning ties in with creative strategy, so strong organic posts can be tested as ads. The profile side connects to local SEO, where photos and posts sit alongside reviews and categories.
How we work
01
Usually Facebook and Instagram plus GBP for local trades, LinkedIn for B2B services. Each gets a clear job and a posting rate you can sustain.
02
A short shot list for the crew and one place to send photos, so the content supply doesn’t depend on the owner remembering.
03
We write captions, schedule posts across channels and flag comments or messages that need someone in the business to reply.
Measurement and review
Followers and reach are context, not results. More useful signals are profile visits from people who later call, messages asking for quotes, applications from job posts, and photo views and actions on your Google Business Profile.
Ask new customers where they saw you and record it in your CRM. If people mention your Instagram or the photos on Google, that’s the clearest sign the content is earning its place.
Good questions
A few useful answers before we talk.
Rarely, for most trades. It helps convert people who found you somewhere else and it supports hiring, but it isn't a dependable source of new enquiries the way search is. If you need more jobs this month, Google search ads and your Business Profile are better bets. Organic social is worth doing when it takes little effort to keep up and makes the rest of your marketing more believable.
Consistency matters more than frequency. A couple of good posts a week on one or two channels, kept up all year, does more than daily posting that stops after a month. For many trades a weekly Google Business Profile update plus two Instagram or Facebook posts is sustainable. The real limit is how many decent job photos the crew can supply, so we set the rate around that rather than around a template.
Someone inside the business, working to clear rules. Quote requests and booking questions should reach whoever handles enquiries the same day. Complaints need the owner or a manager, and a reply that moves the conversation to the phone or a private message. General comments can be acknowledged on your behalf if that's agreed. We write down who handles what before the first post goes out.
Only if someone on the team is comfortable on camera and you can keep it going. TikTok can work for recruitment and for trades with visual results, like detailing, landscaping or tiling, and it reaches younger workers better than Facebook does. It isn't compulsory, and a half-maintained account looks worse to a customer or a job applicant than no account at all.
It looks at how your social profiles and Google Business Profile support the rest of your marketing, including whether they're current, consistent and showing recent work. The checklist tells you what to fix first. Ongoing content creation is a separate scope. Request the free marketing audit.
